5 Must Haves For Your Beach Wedding Look PDF Print E-mail

Your wedding look is the focal point of your beach theme wedding - all eyes will be on you as you walk down the aisle with sand under your feet and ocean spray in the air.  Of course you want your look to be perfect!  You want it to complement your beach wedding theme, flatter your body and express your personality all at once.  Here are five must haves for your beach wedding look so you can look your best on the big day.

Bare Shoulders

Bare shoulders are not only appropriate for a beach theme wedding, they're encouraged!  Show off a sultry, sun kissed glow with a spaghetti strap dress or a strapless gown.  Keep your jewelry to a minimum and dust a little sparkling bronzer on the tops of your shoulders and collarbone to accent your natural shadows.  You'll look like a beach goddess!

Chiffon

Heavy satins and silks and beach theme weddings don't go well together for a reason.  You'll be hot and sweaty, and your dress will look out of place.  Replace heavy fabrics with lighter ones like chiffon.  Chiffon is perfect for a beach wedding dress because it's thin enough to keep you cool and sheer enough to catch the ocean breeze as it blows across the shore!

Pearls

Wearing pearls to your beach theme wedding makes perfect sense - pearls come from the ocean and their milky luster captures the beauty and romance of the sea itself.  Don a pair of simple pearl studs or pearl drop earrings for a simple effect, or wear an heirloom pearl necklace to pay homage to tradition.  Either way, pearls look absolutely stunning at a beach theme wedding!

Bare Feet

Sure, you can wear sandals at your beach wedding, but where's the fun in that?  Stop for a moment and revel in the beauty of the natural surroundings you've chosen to get married in by letting the sand seep in between your toes.  Beach weddings are all about connecting with nature and a great way to do that is to go shoeless!  Plus, it gives you a great excuse to get a pedicure.

Nude Makeup and Natural Hair

Nothing looks worse at a beach theme wedding than an overdone bride.  Wearing heavy makeup and having a ton of hairspray in your hair will make you look like you belong in a bridal magazine spread, not enjoying your nuptials on a gorgeous, sunny beach.  Try letting your hair down and adding just a few soft curls and wear enough makeup to cover any blemishes but not so much that it looks caked on.  Dab on a bit of mascara and some bronzer and you're good to go!  The rule of thumb for the best beach wedding look is that less really is more.

Experiment with different makeup, different hairstyles and different accessories before your beach wedding until you find the look that you can really pull off.  The most important thing is that you both look great and feel great!
